KATHUA, Jan 2: Scripting a narrow win by 7 runs over Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana in the quarterfinals, Khanna Cricket Club Jargaon sealed a berth in the semifinals of the ongoing 7th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter-Club T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Police Martyrs Welfare Committee, Kathua at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Khanna Cricket Club scored a decent total of 150 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Tarun top scored with 34 runs off just 16 balls. For Sandhu Cricket Club, Varun took 3 important wickets, while Parveen claimed 2.
In reply, Sandhu Cricket Club managed to score 143 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 7 runs. Mohit and Hashmit contributed 33 runs each. Aman was the wrecker-in-chief for Khanna Cricket Club, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 3 overs. For this performance, Aman of Khanna Cricket Club Jargaon was declared as man of the match. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 3,000 and a trophy by s Ranjeet Singh, President Truck Union, Kathua.
