Khanna asks partymen to focus on 2019 LS poll

JAMMU, Mar 17: Elated over the party’s landslide victory in UP and Uttrakhand elections as well as its satisfactory performance in Goa and Manipur Assembly elections, BJP national vice president and Prabhari J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna today said the party’s next target is to register splendid victory in 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the preparations for the same are to be made from today.
Khanna who reached here from Srinagar this afternoon after concluding his two days tour of Valley was addressing a meeting of State office bearers, representatives of Jammu West and Jammu districts, ministers and newly appointed vice-chairpersons, Party Legislators and Morcha presidents at State office Trikuta Nagar.
He said to achieve the target, BJP activists at all levels need to be involved. The results of recent elections’ in the State assemblies were a great landmark for the party and it was possible because of efficient planning and hard work of the workers, who approached all sections of the society to seek their vote and support, he added.
Khanna also sought the report of working from the district presidents, Mandal presidents and incharges of respective Morchas. He emphasized on the gross root level working of the organisation and asked the Karyakartas to activate the organization at booth level.
He said that during his visit to Srinagar the feedback of the Karyakartas for party’s participation in the forthcoming Parliament elections in two constituencies in Valley was sought, which will be discussed in Core Group and Election Committee. The final decision on the matter will be taken by the party High Command at Delhi, he added.
Sat Sharma, on this occasion, said that the morale of the party activists in all the three regions of the State is very high after victory in UP and Uttrakhand in particular and we have to focus on Panchayat and local bodies elections. He said that all the opposition parties had united to defame PM Narendra Modi on the issue of demonetization but failed miserably in their vicious designs as PM who dedicated his Government to the cause of poor, downtrodden and youth is becoming popular day by day.
State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul spoke on the future programmes to be undertaken at different levels across the State and also the party’s growing graph in Kashmir.
BJP State general secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh and Harinder Gupta, Jammu West district president Ayodhya Gupta and Jammu district president Baldev Singh Billawaria also shared dais.
