Khalsa HC outplays Vijaypur Warriors; Hiranagar blanks Samba

JAMMU, Feb 1: Khalsa Hockey Club defeated Samba Hockey Club by six goals to two (6-2), while Hiranagar Hockey Club got better of Vijaypur Warriors by four goals to nil (4-0) in the ongoing Jammu District Senior Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
The Tournament is being sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
Earlier, in the first match, Hiranagar Hockey Club defeated Vijaypur Warriors by four goals to nil (4-0) in a one sided affair. For Hiranagar Club, Digvijay Singh scored the first goal early in the 5th minute of the game, while the other 3 goals were netted by Amit Singh, Shallu and Suraj Singh in 11th, 38th and 49th minutes respectively.
In another match, Khalsa Hockey Club Gole Gujral defeated Samba Hockey Club by six goals to two (6-2). From Khalsa Club, Palmeet Singh scored the first goal in 2nd minute, while Gurpreet Singh scored 2 back to back goals in 25th and 28th minutes and the other three goals were scored by Surinder Singh, JS Reen and Kulwant Singh in 36th, 43rd and 58th minutes respectively. Amit Singh and Sourab Singh netted the goals for Samba Hockey Club in 10th and 35th minutes respectively.
The matches were officiated by Satvir Singh, Iqbal Singh, Joginder Singh, Karanjit Singh and JS Reen.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Jaswant Singh, MS Reen, Vijay Vaid and GS Bakshi.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Deshmesh Club will take on Ajeet Club Gole Gujral at 1:30 pm and Guru Nanak Nagar Club will lock horns with Samba Club at 2:30 pm.
