Khalsa Cricket Club drubs Jr KCC to lift title

JAMMU, Nov 5: Khalsa Cricket Club defeated Junior Khalsa Cricket Club by 2 wickets in a thrilling contest to lift the title trophy of the Sikh Premier League (SPL), organised by Khalsa Cricket Club  Jammu at Baba Jhule Shah Ground, Camp Gole Gujral, here.
Earlier, after winning toss JKCC lead by skipper Kawaldeep Singh elected to bat first and set a fighting total of 135 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Sourav scored 28 runs, while Anmol and Jatinder contributed 22 and 20 runs respectively.
For KCC side, Gurpreet took 3 wickets, while Harinder and Harpreet claimed 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
Chasing the target, Khalsa Cricket Club managed to score 136 runs in the 20th over to win the Championship by 2 wickets.
Harinder Singh scored 32 runs for his team, while Gurpreet and Harpreet contributed 25 and 18 runs to the total.
From JKCC side, Gagan and Jatinder bagged 2 wickets each.
MLA Sukhnandan Chowdhary was the chief guest and S. Avtar Singh Khalsa, member DGPC was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Gurpreet Singh was adjudged as the man of the match for his all-round performance, while Harpreet Singh was adjudged as the man of the series.
Davinder and Prithpal were the umpires, while Kawal Singh was the scorer.
