JAMMU, Aug 14: Senior BJP leader and MLC Ashok Khajuria today asked National Conference (NC) leadership not to make misleading statements on Article 35A and create confusion among the nationalist people of the State.
In a statement issued here, today Khajuria ridiculed NC by taking refuge under then Maharaja saying that the Maharaja had introduced the State Subject law for protection of the people of the State. Khajuria said if NC considered Maharaja was a benevolent King and a great sympathizer of the people of the State who had really introduced good laws for the people of the State then why the NC leadership revolted against him and forced him to leave the State.
Khajuria cautioned the people of Jammu against the game plan of NC leadership who are misleading the people on the name of Maharaja when in real sense the party harmed Maharaja most and also damaged the cause of people of Jammu by pursuing discriminative policies against this region in its rule right from 1947.
Khajuria while making the position of his Party clear on Article 35 A, said the matter is subjudice and everyone should wait to verdict of honourable court. He said that so far as BJP’s stand is concerned the Party has given a lot of sacrifice for total integration of State with India since 1947 under the leadership of Shayama Prasad Mukherjee,  Pt Prem Nath Dogra and Deen Dayal Upadayay and it is committed to same.
