JAMMU, June 28: The NHPC authorities have advised the general public to keep away from Chenab river on June 30.
A spokesman of the NHPC said that the public has been informed that in order to maintain the Dam and Power House of Salal Power Station and to retain the water at a required level, the water level of Chenab river can increase or decrease at any point of time in between 30.06.2018 (6 AM) to (6 PM). Hence everybody residing besides the upstream and downstream of Salal Dam is requested not to venture near the river bank. They should also avoid their cattle and their trucks/ tippers etc going to the river side. This co-operation will support to save the general public and their belongings.
