KCPS students excel in prestigious Vijay Merchant Trophy

JAMMU, Dec 27: The students of KC Public School namely Sampark Gupta, Praful Dhar and Aryan Mahajan excelled in Vijay Merchant Under-16 Boys Cricket Tournament, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), recently. The Jammu and Kashmir team played four matches against Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.
While left-arm spinner Sampark Gupta and right-arm off-spinner Praful Dhar were instrumental in powering Jammu and Kashmir to historic first innings lead to secure 3 vital points against formidable Delhi, another left-arm spinner, Aryan Mahajan made debut against   Himachal Pradesh in this prestigious Championship. Praful was the pick of the J&K bowlers in the memorable match against Delhi, scalping 3 important wickets by conceding 19 runs in 9.3 overs, while Sampark apart from bagging 2 wickets against Delhi, bowled brilliantly against the teams of Punjab and Haryana.
In a special morning assembly, the trio received standing ovation from their school mates for their performance at the national level. Principal Amarendra Mishra congratulated the boys and their Cricket Coach Ravi Sharma for bringing honour to their State, region and their school.
