SRINAGAR, Jan 24: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry has expressed its concern over the handling of the Jahangir Chowk-Ram Bagh flyover and Khushalsar filling.
A KCCI spokesman said that filling of the Rambagh section of the flood spillage channel will pose an imminent threat to the area in light of the recent floods.
The concern of the breach of the banks of the river in case of a rise in the water level is real and needs immediate attention of the authorities. There are also reports of Khushalsar filling and unabated construction in that area which is also a huge cause of concern as our water bodies act as sponges and they are being depleted at an alarming rate.
KCCI has urged the administration to look into the matter immediately.
