KC Royals drubs Wheelocity Vishal Bulls to lift PPCPL title

JAMMU, Sept 1: Trouncing Wheelocity Vishal Bulls in a close contest by 15 runs in the summit clash, KC Royals lifted the title trophy of the Police Public Cricket Premier League, organized under the Chairmanship of Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IGP Jammu at KC Sports Club, here.
The league was organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with KC Sports Club and Vishal Club Jammu and the executive/organizing committee members of the league includes Bhim Sen Tuti DIG Jammu, Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu, Rajesh Sharma SO to IGP Jammu, Arjun Choudhary MD KC Sports Club, Hilal Rather, Ramesh Kotwal SP Headquarters Jammu, Dushant Sharma SP Rural, Rajesh Dhar Chairman Media Committee JKCA, Sudhir Singh BCCI panel umpire, Prashant Mahajan CPO Jammu, Madan Mohan DySP DAR Jammu, Sanjeev Mahajan, Vijay Sabherwal and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and the Organizing Secretary.


Bhim Sen Tuti DIG Jammu was the chief guest on the Valedictory function, while Ramesh Mahajan, Former Chairman JKCA, Sham Saroop Kalsotra, Member JKCA and Shahid Parvez Selector JKCA were the guests of honour, who distributed the prizes among the winners and runners up teams on the occasion. The winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 along with a trophy, while runners-up team was awarded with a cash prize of 50,000 and a trophy in presence of SSP Rajesh Sharma, SO to IGP Jammu, Kulbir Singh SSP PCR, SP Headquarters Jammu, Dushyant Sharma SP Rural, Sandeep SDPO Domana, besides former ace cricketers, Vidhya Baskar, Surinder Singh Bagal, Vivek Sharma, Rakesh Koul and Raj Kumar Bakshi.
In his address, DIG Jammu lavished praise on the organizers for conducting the event smoothly and successfully and said that the J&K Police Department is committed to involve youth in sports and allied activities.
Earlier, KC Royals scored 147 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 25 overs. Abhay Tondon top scored with 45 runs, while Akshit and Arjun contributed 20 and 13 runs respectively. From Bulls, Aditya took 2 wickets, while skipper Praful Dhar and Sachin Sharma claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Wheelocity Vishal Bulls managed to score 132 runs thus lost the match by 15 runs. Arjun Parth scored 36 runs, while Nikhil and Shivansh contributed 31 and 25 runs to the total respectively. For KC Royals, Archit took 3 wickets, while Aqib took 2 wickets and Abay claimed 1 wicket. Abay Tondon was adjudged man of the match and man of the series, while Praful Dhar was declared Best Bowler, Kawalpreet Singh as Best Batsman. JKCA Working Committee Member, Ankush Abrol was the mentor of the KC Royals team, while Madan Mohan and Ashok Kumar were the coaches of Wheelocity Vishal Bulls and KC Royals respectively.
The matches were officiated by Sudhir Singh, Amit Gupta, Saleem-Ul-Rehman, Sadiq Husain, Sham Singh, Ashok Singh and Sanju. Ashok Kumar from Lucknow was the third umpire.
The proceedings of the valedictory function were conducted by ace commentator and anchor Rajesh Dhar and Angelina Stephen.
The slogan of the league was “Let junior cricketers feel the aroma of IPL at Jammu with J&K Police”.
The eight participating included Simula Strikers, Elite Tigers, Horizon Kings, Wheelocity Vishal bulls, KC Royals, Count & Fitness Hurricanes, Vriddhi Royals and MS Stars.
The franchise owners included Hilal Rather, Ramesh Mahajan, Ashish Singh, Atul Abrol, Arvind Koul, Robin Singh, Sanjeev Mahajan and Tajinder Singh.
The official sponsors of the league were Crazy Few Films, J&K Police & KC Sports Club whereas the co sponsors included Big FM 92.7, ACC Cements, Skoda, Pir Panchal Constructions, Surya Milk, Vivo, Rivazo Homes, Deccan ply , Protinex and Teg Infrastructure.
