JAMMU, Oct 8: Five students of KCPS escorted by Rachna Sharma attended the Round Square Leadership Training Camp organized by Doon School Dehradun from October 4 to 7, 2018.
The students in the age range of 11 to 13 years were Suhani Sachdeva, Ojas Kapur, Soumya Kapur, Adhiraj Jamwal, and Aadeesh Nargotra. Leadership is a vital ideal of the Round Square educational philosophy which inculcates skills of problem-solving, team-work and responsibility in children.
On the first day of the Camp, student delegates from 13 Round Square schools from India began with a tour of Doon school Campus followed by ice-breaking sessions, orientation and an interactive session on leadership with the expert Ms Anez. The day ended with special dinner at the residence of the Principal of Doon School.
On the 2nd day of the Camp, the trainees moved to the idyllic surroundings of Maldevta farm located in the foothills of Doon valley. Tented accommodation for trainees had been erected on the premises of the farm and its spacious grounds and indoor spaces were used for group activities and for training sessions conducted by experts.
The delegates also watched some street plays on socially relevant themes presented by members of a local NGO besides taking part in thrilling adventure related activities such as rock climbing and abseiling. It was a long and busy day which concluded with bonfire after dinner during which students from participating schools presented their cultural items.
The training programme ended on October 7 with a simple closing ceremony after which the delegates embarked on their journeys back home.
