Kavinder takes stock of development works in Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Oct 5: In order to fast track the development activities in Gandhi Nagar, Speaker State Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today visited  Satwari, Gadhigarh, Digiana, Nai Basti, Nanak Nagar  and other areas of his Constituency.
He was accompanied by the officers of Revenue, ERA, JMC, PWD(R&B), PHE & PDD and inspected the ongoing works under various schemes in these localities.
He also inspected the works pertaining to maintenance and upgradation of roads, lanes and drains executed by PWD(R&B) JMC and other agencies at these areas.
Gupta said that prior to installation of BJP-PDP Government in the State; the infrastructure of almost all the departments was in a very shabby condition and required immediate attention.
While interacting with the people at these places, he said that projects amounting to several crore have been sanctioned by the Government for upgrading and creating new infrastructure in Gandhi Nagar and other parts of the State.
He said that initially the blacktopping of main roads along with the provision for providing better power and water supply remained his priority as huge amount was required for all these works.
Interacting with the people, he said, not only the pace of work but the quality has seen a drastic change in various spheres and that was made possible only due to the efficient and honest working of the present Government.
He informed that additional amount of  Rs 9 crore have been sanctioned by the PWD(R&B) for blacktopping of roads and an amount of Rs 1.3 crore have been provided by him through his CDF and addition to CAPEX Budget 2016-17 to the PWD for carrying out the left over works by the end of November.
He stated that the work for upgradation of lanes and drains, installation of new transformers is on the progress and the agencies responsible for the implementation of these projects have been directed to expedite the works.
