Kavinder kick starts development works

JAMMU, July 14: Giving a push to the development activities in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta on Saturday toured Nanak Nagar area and started the work for up-gradation of lanes and drains in sector 3, 5 and Ward 42.
He was accompanied by the officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and prominent citizens of the area. The work will be executed by the JMC and the drains work will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 9.82 lakh.
Gupta also interacted with people and took stock of their day to day problems.
The people projected developmental demands which were mainly related to up-gradation of by-lanes, water supply, sanitation etc for which Gupta directed XEN, JMC to take up all the by-lanes works in sector 3 and 5 which are in deplorable condition and needs urgent up-gradation.
Responding to other demands of the people, Gupta assured them that their demands would be met soon. He said that his focus is on the development programmes for making Gandhi Nagar Constituency as a model one and uplifting the living standards of the people by providing them all the basic amenities.
He asked JMC officers to complete the ongoing works in Gandhi Nagar Constituency at an earliest ensuring good quality.
Gupta said that participation of the people is required to identify developmental needs and to set priorities in an integrated manner. XEN, JMC, Arun Gupta; AEE, JMC, Ashok Sharma; Baldev Billoria, Ankush Gupta, Pappu Choudhary, Tarsem Choudhary, Sunil Sharma, Nayan Gupta, Sanjay Gupta, Sumit Prashar, Prof. Gopal Krishan, Manmeet Singh among others were also present on the occasion.
