Katra-Reasi road blocked, 5 cattle wash away

JAMMU, Aug 7: The busy Katra-Reasi and Reasi-Mahore roads remained closed for over four to five hours due to land-slides while five cattle were washed away in flash flood in a nallah near Budhal today.
Reports from Reasi said that Katra- Reasi remained closed for about four hours near the proposed tunnel during this morning. Due to heavy rain last night, the road was blocked due to landslides and it could be cleared at around 11.30 am today. The traffic remained suspended on the road for about four hours.
The traffic on Reasi-Mahore road also remained disrupted for nearly five hours due to landslides near Daman bridge and Sallah nallah near Dharmari today. The R&B authorities cleared the road and restored traffic during the mid day. Several link roads were also closed in the area due to rain and land slides.
Another report from Rajouri said that two oxen, two cows and a horse of one Mohd Ismail, resident of Draman in Budhal were washed away in flash flood in a nallah during the day today. The locals noticed the cattle falling victim to the flash flood but could not help.
