JAMMU, Jan 25: Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler along with contraband of poppy straw from Numaee area, falling under the jurisdiction of Katra police station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Katra police station headed by DySP Katra Ghulam Hassan Sheikh laid a naka near Numaee and intercepted a person, who was moving suspiciously.
During checking, police recovered 1.5 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the narcotic smuggler, who has been identified as Bittu Singh, son of Gian Chand of Matyal, Katra.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Katra police station and investigation started.
