Kathua Police seizes 10 grams of heroin

KATHUA, Mar 17:  Kathua police has seized 10 grams of heroin from a youth during a naka at Chak Drab Khan today.
The youth identified as Sunil Dutt, 21, son of Baldev Raj of Kullian Chak, Drab Khan Kathua has been arrested and a case FIR Number 83/2017 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered against him at PS Kathua.
The seizure of heroin is the part of the drive launched by the District Police Kathua to nab the drug peddlers who are trapping the youth of the district so that they will fall in their dragnet by making them drug addicts.
Police said a team of Police Station Kathua headed by Inspector, Sarabjeet Singh, SHO PS Kathua on a specific information, laid a naka at Chack Drab Khan and intercepted one person namely Sunil Dutt S/o Baldev Raj R/o Kullian, Chack Drab Khan, Kathua. During his personal search, 10 grams of heroin was recovered from him. The accused was arrested and investigation has been started in the case.
Police said that it has received the information that the accused was making small packets of one gram of heroin and selling the same among the youth for Rs 1000.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of S.S. Sambyal, DySP Hqrs. Kathua and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua.
