Kathua police rescued 12 bovines

KATHUA, Mar 13: Kathua police has rescued 12 bovine animals during two nakas laid down by Police Post Hatli Morh and Police Station Kathua during late last night and today respectively.
According to police a team of Police Post Hatli Morh led by SI Virender Singh laid down a naka at Hatli Morh and intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK05D-2919 loaded with bovine animals which was on way from Punjab to Jammu.
During checking of the vehicle, police rescued eight bovine animals being smuggled in the truck. Two bovine smugglers Mansha Choudhary, S/o Nawab Din of Channi Himmat, Gujjar Colony Jammu and driver of the vehicle namely Sajjad Ahmed S/o Mohammed Abdullah Nazir of Baramulla were arrested. A FIR number 76/2017 under Section 188 RPC 3/5 PC Act stands registered at P/S Kathua against the accused persons.
Meanwhile Kathua Police today recovered four bovine animals during a naka which was laid by a team of police led by SHO PS Kathua, Sarabjeet Singh. It intercepted a Mahindra load career bearing Registration Number JK02 BK -1966 which was loaded with four bovines. The vehicle was on way from Punjab to Jammu. The police rescued the animals. But the two smugglers and the driver of the vehicle managed to escape. A FIR No 77/2017 U/S 188 RPC 3/5 PC Act stands registered at PS Kathua and investigation into the matter is in progress to arrest the smugglers.
The drives were carried out under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters Kathua, S S Sambyal and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar SSP, Kathua.
