Kashmiri politicians creating confusion over Article 35A: KPC

JAMMU, Aug 27: Kash-miri politicians and their coterie of anti–nationalists in Kashmir are just creating ruckus and confusion over Article 35-A and deliberately ignoring the basic facts of the said Article.
KPC president, Kundan Kashmiri while reacting to the statements of the separatists and semi–separatist organizations of Kashmir Valley said that Article 35-A was brought un–necessarily through presidential notification and treated it as a law with out proper approval of the Indian Parliament. The Article is against the basic fundamental rights of the citizens and it was a deliberate attempt made by former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru to appease a group of fundamentalists in Kashmir to create a barrier and iron curtain between Indian nation and State of J&K with ulterior motives.
He further said that the issue of Article 35 A is of paramount importance as applicability of this article debars the daughters of J&K to have the right of inheritance over the property. Moreover it also debars Indian citizens residing outside the State of Jammu and Kashmir from acquiring the land in the State. This is the violation of fundamental rights enshrined in Indian Constitution.
He said the Kashmiri Pandits leading the exiled life for last 30 years are worst victims of this Article as well as Article 370 and appealed all nationalist forces in the State to join hands and take on the separatists and other Kashmiri centric forces opposing the rights of women in the State who are married outside J&K.
