Kashmiri Hindus demand political, economic reservation

JAMMU, July 16: Kashmiri Khatri Hindus today demanded the Government to extend them political and economic reservation.
The demand was raised during a joint meeting of Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha, Kashmiri Khatri Yuvak Sabha and Displaced Kashmiri Unemployed Youth Union, held today at Jagti township under the chairmanship of Ramesh Chander Mahajan.
The speakers demanded that Kashmiri migrants be declared as internally displaced people. They also demanded to reserve four seats for the Kashmir migrants in State Legislative Assembly, three in Legislative Council and one each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
They also demanded over all empowerment of migrant community to elect and represent MPs/MLAs/Sarpanches/ Panches and other local bodies’ members in State/ Central elections.
