Kashmir cannot be solved without talking to Pakistan: Farooq

JAMMU: Former Union Minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah today said that Kashmir issue can never settled down without taking Pakistan on board.

”How will you resolve Kashmir issue without talking to Pakistan? The two countries have to talk to each other,” Dr Abdullah here told mediapersons at the sidelines of a function.

He said the Centre also needs to initiate talks with the constituents of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir to find an amicable solution to the issue.

”India has to talk to all the stakeholders in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. And they have also to talk to the people in Muzaffarabad, PoK, Baltistan, Eskardu, Gilgit, Hunza and others,” he added

Referring to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks against his party, Dr Addullah said, ” I would like to say that it was her father late Mufti Mohd Sayeed who always played the game of buying and selling of MLAs.”

Lashing out at the PDP-the NC president alleged, ”Even in 2002 when we (NC) had 28 MLAs and he (PDP) had only 16, he tried to buy our MLAs.” He said that let Ms Mufti prove that Farooq Abdullah or the NC had ever bought or sold even a single.

The former chief minister also rejected PDP Chief’s statement about NCs’ role in recent valley turmoil and said, ”NC has not pelted any stone or picked up Gun”.

”Let Mehbooba prove if any of the NC cadres involved in stone pelting” he said and added that NC has not pelted stones but it has history of going to jails in the past while it was the NC which lost the highest number of cadres including ministers and leaders during turmoil. (AGENCIES)
