Karan assesses arrangements for Kheer Bhawani Mela

SRINAGAR, June 12: Dr Karan Singh, senior most Congress leader and Chairman Trustee of J&K Dharmarth Trust, today visited the famous Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji shrine, Tullamulla (Ganderbal) to take on spot assessment of arrangements and basic facilities for the devotees visiting there from various parts of the country on Kheer Bhawani Mela to be celebrated on June 20.
Soon after performing Pooja Archana at the shrine and meeting with a number of Kashmiri Pandits and tourists/devotees, Dr Singh took cognizance of basic amenities like sanitation, drinking water, electricity, blankets and tentage including security and transportation arrangements for the yatris and devotees in view of Mela, during a meeting with J&K Dharmarth Trust, Kheer Bhawani Management body and State Government officials who were present there.
Dr Singh instructed BR Kundal, president, J&K Dharmarth Trust and Ajay Jamwal, secretary, J&K Dharmarth Trust, for providing best services and arrangements to the devottees during Mela. He was accompanied to the Kheer Bhawani shrine by Dharmarth Trust Member Council, AK Mattoo, additional secretary, Kashmir, including General Manager Kheer Bhawani, Romesh Kumar Bhat and other trust officials.
