JAMMU, Jan 11: Outplaying Vijay Club in an exciting contest via tie-breaker by four goals to two (4-2) in the pre-quarterfinal, Kanwal Sports Club entered the quarterfinals of the ongoing 11th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, organized by All J&K Christian Welfare Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association 2017-18 at GGM Science College football ground, here.
Both the teams were goalless in the stipulated time, while in tie-breaker, Kanwal Sports managed to convert penalties to goals and Vijay Club converted two.
In another match, Param Football Club defeated Young Hero’s by a solitary goal. Amritpal Singh was the goal scorer in 40th minute.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Dheeraj Meenia, Romesh Kumar, Rocky Sharma, Ricky Kumar, Sanjay, Hilal Ahmed and Mohinder Kalsi.
In tomorrow’s fixture, J&K Bank Academy will take on Param FC at 1 pm, while Shaheen FC will lock horns with Churchill Brothers at 3 pm.
