JAMMU, Aug 30:  A grand “Kalash Yatra” has been organized this afternoon on the eve of Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah and Shrikrishna Janamashtmi Mahotsav. The Yatra commenced from Geeta Bhawan Parade Ground Jammu and passed through various lanes and by lanes of Shalamar, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, RajTilak Road and culminated back at Geeta Bhawan Parade Ground.
Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture also participated and remained with devotees in the Yatra. She appraised Satsang Prachar Sewa Mandal Jammu Kashmir for organizing such religious events in Jammu, the city of temples.
Speaking on the occasion Priya lauded the efforts of the Sewa Mandal for successfully organizing the event and called upon the people to participate in the events which are part of the rich culture of the State. She said joint celebrations by people from all walks of life is hall mark of the composite culture or the State and strengthens the social fabric of the society.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Parshotam Sharma, organizing secretary Satsang Prachar Sewa Mandal Jammu Kashmir informed that the Bhagwat Saptah which is starting today will continue till September 6 daily from 03:00 pm to 06:00 pm at Geeta Bhawan Parade Ground, here. On September 5 a grand “Shri Krishna Janamashtmi Mahotsav” will be celebrated from 9:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. On the last day of the programme “Virat Sant Sammelan” will be held at 11:00 am at Geeta Bhawan Parade ground in which prominent saints of Jammu city and outskirts are invited who will guide the society to the path of righteousness. A Grand Bhandara will also be held on September 6 after sammelan.
