JAMMU, July 8: Kabir Sabha, Janipur today organized a function in its premises to celebrate 620th birth anniversary of Shiromani Sant Kabir Ji Maharaj.
Besides, president and management committee of Kabir Sabha Janipur, presidents and other office bearers from All J&K Kabir Sabha, Bhagat Mahasabha, Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu, and Kabir Sabhas Bishnah, Maira Mandrian and Akhnoor as well as other followers of Sant Kabir participated in the celebrations.
While speaking on the occasion, Randhir Singh, Giani Narinder and other Sikh religious leaders highlighted the role of Kabir Ji Maharaj in awakening human beings about equality, brotherhood and communal harmony in the society.
Randhir Singh Ragi & Party and Kabir Bhagat, Baisakhi Ram & Party recited Gurbani and Kabir bhajans. On the occasion, Sikh pracharaks told that Guru Granth Sahib have 227 shlokas of Sant Kabir giving message of spirituality and human values.
Earlier, Mula Ram Bhagat (ex-MLA), chairman, All J&K Kabir Sabha, JL Bhagat, chairman, Kabir Sabha Bishnah and Mohinder Bhagat, president, Bhagat Mahasabha, while addressing the gathering, said that Kabir Maharaj was not only a Sant but also a great social reformer, whose teachings are very much relevant and beneficial for the society even today. He stressed upon everybody to follow the teachings of the great Sant.
