JWCCL seeks CM’s help for getting registered as women bank

JAMMU, Aug 4: Jammu Women Credit Cooperative Limited (JWCCL) today appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to accomplish the dream of his father, late Mufti Mohd Sayeed, of empowering the women by helping the JWCCL financially as well as legally in its registration as women bank.
In a statement, Kailash Verma, chairperson of JWCCL said with the active support of late Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, JWCCL started its membership in 2004 and got registered on June 26, 2006 with the support of J&K Cooperative Department. She said that in 2008 due to late Mufti Ji’s keen interest, two branches of JWCCL got registered.
Stating that presently JWCCL has eight branches spread over different areas in Jammu Division through which about nine crores have been disbursed out of membership money to women beneficiaries, Verma appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to extend every possible help to JWCCL in getting registered as women bank.
