JWAM stages protest against poor water supply

JAMMU, Mar 26: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration against PHE department for poor water supply for the last one week.
The protest was led by Sunil Dimple, JWAM president who threatened to torch the effigies of XEns, AEEs and JEs if water supply is not restored within 24 hours.
He further demanded start of work on Chenab Water Supply project.
The protesters carried empty utensils with them at New Plot-Janipur High Court road.
They also said that there are also long power cuts in Jammu city and West Assembly Constituency.
Dimple demanded water tankers to supply water at the affected areas and alleged that BJP ministers, MLAs and MPs did nothing to get started the work on Chenab Water Supply project.
“Many times the matter was brought into the notice of XEn, AEE, JEs of ERA and PHE but nothing has been done by these authorities.
Prominent among protestors were Harbans Tondon, Ram Kapoor, Chaman Pawar, Kulwant Sharma, Kala Kumar and others.
