JWAM holds protest against non-availability of essentials

JAMMU, Mar 30: The activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement held a protest demonstration for non-availability of essential commodities and non-implementation of the Food Security Bill in the State, today.
Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement said the shortage of ration, kerosene oil has badly hit the poor people and the women, children and old persons have to stand in long quos days together outside ration depots only to return home without the atta, sugar and kerosene oil.
He alleged that CAPD Ministry is not giving the required quantity of the atta, rice, sugar, kerosene oil to the State.
Dimple demanded the CAPD Minister Zulfkar Ali to take up matter with the Union Food and Supply Minister and added that the 5 liters of kerosene oil to the family is not sufficient and demanded for increase in the kerosene oil on per ration card to 30 litters per month to each family.
He demanded 50 kg Atta for each family on each ration card, per month as two bags are not enough for the families.
He stressed to issue the new fresh ration cards and bifurcation of ration cards at the earliest, including opening of more LPG out-lets.
Other present were Rajinder Sharma, Madan Lal, Shiv Kumar, Bodh Raj, Khem Raj, Prem Kumar, S Swarn Singh, Sunita Devi, Seem Devi, Pushpa, Manju Bala, Kiran Kumari, Dimple Kumari, Kanta Devi, Shella Devi, Sita Devi, Renu Kumari, Sonia, Dogra and Rani Devi.
