JAMMU, July 5:   A delegation under the leadership of president, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM), Sunil Dimple met with the senior officers of the PDD and PHE and held talks to solve the problem of power cuts  and acute scarcity of drinking water in the city outskirts.
The delegation met Superintending Engineer (SE) PDD, Gurbachan Singh and SE PHE, Sunil Gupta  and discussed in length the reforms needed for the improvement of power as well water supply in the Jammu region.
Dimple told Gurbachan Singh that the Government had promised to provide the 100% power in  the metered areas but it failed to do so and the people are facing 12-15 hours power cuts a day.
He demanded to start ARDPA scheme and install a fresh new receiving station of 50 MVA at Janipur to over come the load problem and the curtailment of power cuts.
Dimple alleged that all the feeders of the constituency are old and defunct and so are in worst condition and the voltage supplied is very low and even the electric gadgets fans, fridge, commuters and other equipment and even transformers do not work.
Sunil Dimple demanded SE PHE, Sunil Gupta to expedite the pace of  the work of the Chenab Water Supply  project. He strongly opposed the Govt move of the installation of 14000 meters on the water connections and warned not to implement the new policy of installation of meters on the water connections.
