JAMMU, Jan 29: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists led by president Sunil Dimple held massive protest against  no measure having been raised and discussed for projecting demands of Jammu region in the State Assembly by the BJP MLAs.
The activists protested against the CAPD Ministry for increasing the rates of the atta, rice, sugar and non-availability of ration and kerosene oil in designated shops or depots.
Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple told that the food security has totally collapsed and the people of the Jammu region are without ration for the last five months even after increasing the rates of the ration items. He demanded that the increased prices be rolled back.
Dimple demanded increase in the kerosene oil on per ration card to 30 litters per month. He also demanded exemption of Sales Tax and VAT on the sale of petrol, diesel, kerosene oil and LPG in the State.
He demanded the state and central govt to start the AIIMS, OPD in the GMC and Super Specialisty hospital till the AIIMS starts functioning properly in Jammu.
Dimple announced that JWAM will start forceful agitation for the Jammu AIIMS, Chenab Project, Smart City, construction of flyovers and artificial lake in Tawi river.
Prominent among those present in the protest included Sham Saroop Gupta,  Madan Lal Dogra, Rajinder Sharma, Joginder Singh, Sham Saroop, Vimal Kumar, Prem Kumar, Dimple Kumari, Kanta Devi, Shella Devi, Sita Devi, Renu Kumari, Sonia Dogra, Rani Devi etc.
