JAMMU, Apr 16: After the students, Jammu University administration has invited criticism of the teaching faculty also, which is going to observe a token strike tomorrow in protest against JU failure in protecting their honour and dignity.
A unanimous decision in this regard was taken in the general body meeting of the Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA), here today, under the chairmanship of its president Prof K S Charak.
“As resolved unanimously in today’s GBM, all the teachers shall observe a token strike tomorrow to protest against illegal confinement of our colleagues on 12.04.2018 and the complete  failure  of the administration in protecting the honour and dignity of teachers,” says a message flashed to all members of the JUTA after the meeting.
JUTA announced that there shall be no class work and exams tomorrow  and all teachers have been asked  to assemble in the lawn in front of new Administration Block at 11.00 am sharp for a protest demonstration  there.
Pertinent to mention that members of the JU Negotiation Committee, some senior faculty  members, were gheraoed and virtually locked on April 12  by the protesting students, who were observing fast unto death for removal of  Prof Satnam Kour as Dean Students Welfare.
