JAMMU, Oct 6: Cueist Kanav Manawa stunned Cueist Rohit Sodhi in the completely thrilled final match today and claimed 22nd Jammu District Open Junior Billiards title, being organised by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium.
The final match of the Junior Billiards which was played between Kanav Manawa and Rohit Sodhi proved to be real thrilling encounter, which ultimately was clinched by Cueist Kanav Manawa by 2-1 frames.
Cueist Kanav Manawa made good start by clinching opening frame by 50-37. Rohit Sodhi gave no room to Cueist Kanav in the second frame to exhibit his skills and equalized the game by winning the frame by 50-42.
In the third and decider frame, Cueist Kanav Manawa bounced back strongly and fetched the frame by a solitary point (50-49).
Meanwhile, Cueist Sohail Khalid and Cueist Ishan Chowdhary thrashed their respective opponents in their semifinal matches of Senior Billiards and now will lock horns for the title trophy tomorrow.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Cueist Sohail Khalid outplayed Cueist Ishuk Chowdhary by straight 3-0 frames. Cueist Sohail Khalid clinched the opening frame by 100-44 and also registered win in the second frame by 100-36.
In the third and decider, Cueist Ishuk Chowdhary tried his level best to make a come back in the game, but could not stand in front of Cueist Sohail Khalid and lost it by 100-58.
In the second semis, Cueist Ishan Chowdhary routed Cueist Assem Ghai by straight 3-0 frames. In the first set, Cueist Ishan Chowdhary registered a 4 points win over Cueist Assem Ghai (100-96), whereas, in the second frame, Cueist Aseem Ghai again faced defeat and lost the frame by 100-73.
In the decider frame, Cueist Assem Ghai was looking dominated in front of Cueist Ishan Chowdhary and lost the frame by 100-39.
Cueist Ishan Chowdhary was looking passionate and enthusiastic during the game and thus registered convincing win over Cueist Assem Chowdhary.
It is to mention that, the finals of the Junior Snooker will also be played tomorrow between Cueist Akshay Kumar and Cueist Sanjay Sharma.
