Jugal, Rajeev call on Union MoS Water Resources

JAMMU, Mar 24: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament BJP Lok Sabha Jammu-Poonch along with MLA Akhnoor constituency Rajeev Sharma met with Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Arjun Ram Meghwal at New Delhi and discussed various projects for the development of Water Resources and supply chain in Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency.
Jugal Kishore informed Arjun Ram Meghwal that most part of Akhnoor and Chhamb in his Parliamentary constituency is situated along the bank of river Chenab and a large piece of cultivated land get destroyed during the heavy rainy seasons due to the rise in water level in river Chenab. This destruction affects the economy of the State as well as destroys the grains of the farmers before reaping and houses constructed nearby.
The project for construction of bandhs and crates to the major points to stop the destruction has framed and should be funded immediately so that the land get protected from destruction. He also submitted charter of demands to the Minister and discussed the installation of Tube Wells and Water Supply Schemes to provide water facility to the inhabitants suffering from water scarcity.
Rajeev Sharma, MLA Akhnoor discussed the project of Kandi Canal from Maira Mandrian to Kaleeth and urged that the project should be taken into consideration and approved for early execution.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal assured the MP that he would treat these demands as urgent need and consider them on priority.
