Jugal raises railway station renovation, train halting issues in LS

JAMMU, Apr 5: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member Parliament from Jammu-Poonch constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma raised two important issues in the Lok Sabha today.
During the question hour, MP demanded early commencement of work for the improvement and renovation of Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
While adding to his point, he said that the Minister for Railways has already announced for the development of said railway station in the first list but the work should be commenced at the earliest so that the passengers as well as tourist will get benefit of the modern equipments and the modular Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu assured that the said work will be started soon after the completion of certain formalities pertaining to State Government.
MP also raised important issue for halting the Uttar Sampark Kranti Express at Manwal Railway Station as it will provide a major relief to the rural people, who are deprived of getting rail facilities in their area.
He also added that he is the resident of village Kishenpur which is so far from Udhampur as well as Jammu Tawi Railway Station. “I have to travel for more than 40 kilometers to start my journey by train”, he stated.
Minister for Railways also deputed officials to pursue the matter to make possible the halting of said train at Manwal Railway Station.
