JAMMU, Jan 28: A youth sustained injuries after an escort vehicle of a Judicial Officer tonight hit his bike on High Court Road, Janipur.
According to a police spokesman, an escort vehicle (bearing registration number JK02AX-7799) of a senior Judicial Officer tonight hit a bike bearing registration number JK08B-2464 on High Court Road and injured its rider namely Sumit Sharma (25) son of late Ram Parshad Vaid, resident of Janipur.
“The injured youth was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu”, the spokesman said, adding, the mishap occurred when the driver of the Tavera vehicle namely Pardeep Singh son of late Shamsher Singh, resident of Jandial (Jammu) was returning to High Court premises after taking meal in a dhaba on Janipur road.
The spokesman said that a case in this connection under Section 279 and 337 RPC has been registered at police station Janipur and both the vehicles seized. “The driver of the escort vehicle was also detained for questioning”, he added.
