JAMMU, Oct 30: Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu (JU), Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, distributed certificates to the unarmed security guards of Jammu University who were trained and passed the assessment conducted by the third party assessor under STAR scheme of National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India.
All 30 trainees were passed and awarded with monetary reward, certificates and prizes. The 160 hours of training was conducted in the month of June and July.
Maj Gen (Retd) DK Jamwal, CEO of Security Sector, Skill Development Council, was present as the chief guest. He expressed gratitude to VC for giving his security staff a life time chance for this type of training. While speaking, he described in brief the current situation of skill development in India- it’s need and its profit.
Prof Ishar in his address mentioned about the post training quality improvements and reiterated the importance of skill training.
Registrar, JU, Prof MK Dhar, Dean, Student’s Welfare, Prof Pankaj Srivastava and CSO, Capt SR Dubey wished all candidates a successful future.
Director of the training provider organization, TS Skill and Tech Pvt Ltd, Subrata Bhattacharya, while speaking on the occasion, put emphasis on the social upliftment of the trainees post skill development.
Col Balbir Singh, Principal, Training and Delivery of Security Sector, Skill Development Council, who played a pivotal role in the STAR scheme on the part of the Sector Skill Council was also present on the dais.
