JU Syndicate endorses various items on agenda

JAMMU, Mar 26: The Jammu University Syndicate has endorsed the recommendations of the committee for conduct of JUET for admission to various academic programmes of the University, Campuses and private affiliated colleges.
The Syndicate, which met here last evening under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma, took a number of important academic decisions.
In this 106th meeting of the Syndicate, 86 items were presented by Prof Manoj K Dhar, Registrar JU.
Vide resolution number 16, Indian Nursing Council Act was also adopted. Besides, amendments in the existing internship training in MBBS Course as per MCI norms were endorsed from the session 2014-15. The grant of M Phil/ Ph D Scholars to teachers of Department of Life Long Learning and to the teachers of Directorate of Distance Education was also endorsed.
The guidelines for conducting written examination for differently abled persons, issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Disability Affairs, Government of India, were also adopted by the Syndicate, which also approved  temporary affiliation to non-Government colleges.
The Syndicate meeting was attended by  Sarita Chauhan, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education,  Prof G M Bhat, Dean Faculty of Engineering, KU, Prof Naseem Ahmed Shah, Dean  Faculty of Social Sciences, KU, Prof Mubarak Singh, Dean, Faculty of Education, JU, Prof. Ramnika Jalali, Deptt of Sanskrit, JU, Prof G M Bhat, Deptt of Geology , JU, Prof  J P  S Jorel, Dean Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, Prof Renu Sachar, Deptt of Chemistry, JU and  M R Andrabi, Director, Codes, representative of Principal Secretary to Chief Minister/ Admn. Secretary to the Govt, Finance Department, Financial Advisor (Universities)
