JU students submit memorandum to VC

JAMMU, Feb 16: The students of University of Jammu,  under the supervision of Hamid Hashmi,  submitted a memorandum to Vice Chancellor  R D Sharma seeking  abolition of academic weightage from Jammu University common entrance test.
Currently varsity is giving 75 percent weightage to academic merit of last passed exam and 25 percent  weightage to entrance test. The memorandum appealed the VC to abrogate the academic weightage system and give weightage only  to entrance test.
The memorandum also expressed that all the reputed varsities of India like JNU, DU,AMU, ,JMI etc has introduced the admission process through entrance test.
The memorandum  appealed the VC to espouse the matter with great circumspection and according to the interests of the student community
Vice Chancellor anticipated the demand solicitously and assured that he will look into mater and sent it to core committee for approval. If the matter is not considered this year we will definitely consider it in next year as it is a long process of conducting entrance  and admission regarding rules.
The delegation comprised of  Rajiv,  Mehraj Khan, Zaheer Abbas Khan, Qazi Abrar, Madasar Choudhary and Dinesh Sharma.
