JAMMU, Jan 8: The University of Jammu Fencing men & women teams left for participation in the All India Inter-University Fencing Championship 2018-19 to be organised by the GNDU Amritsar from tomorrow.
The Championship will conclude on January 11, 2019.
The men team comprises of Aanish Kumar, Arun Kr, Vishavjit Singh, Shubam Sharma, Kamal Kr, Sahil Kr, Tariq Hussain, Udhayveer Singh, Hardeep Bhagat, Gulair Singh and Rohit Kumar, while Maninderpal Singh is accompanying the team as a manager.
The women team comprises of Diksha Sharma, Saijal Gupta, Akanksha Sabrawal, Deepak Thakur, Archana Devi, Reema Jamwal, Sindhiya Sharma, Koefeeka Kafi, Vishali Sharma, Sonia Lasotra & Anudasha wheras Ajay Kumar is accompanying the team as a manager.
Bhisham Singh is accompanying the teams as a Coach.
Before the departure of the team, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu interacted with the team members and wished them successful participation in the said Championship.
Jai Bharat & P D Singh were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba has been appointed as an observer by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for the said Championship.
