JU employees’ strike enters 22nd day

JAMMU, Mar 24: Contin-uing their token strike for the 22nd consecutive days, the non-teaching and non-gazetted employees of the Jammu University suspended their work in support of the token strike and held a strong protest demonstration in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat.
Non-teaching employees of  SKUAST -J and SKUAST-K have also extended support to the ongoing agitation and requested the authority to resolve the genuine issues of their counterparts in JU. They stressed that the pending demands should be conceded before  financial closing of this year.
During  demonstration, the  employees under the banner of Jammu University Non Teaching Employees Union and Non Gazetted Employees Union, raised slogans in support of their demands.
The speakers,  while reiterating their demands,  warned the University authorities that the protest demonstration would continue unless and until the demands already agreed upon by them are met.
The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh Bhau, Vijay Kumar, Sham Sharma,  Ashwani Bakshi, Vikas Langer, Abhinav Sharma. Vidhya Lal, Banarasi Lal, Padam Shri Padamani. Niranjan Singh Charak, Joginder Singh Chib,  Kewal Kumar,  Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh, Raj Kumar,  Om Parkash and  Ashok Kumar.
Similar protest demonstrations were  also held in the offsite campuses of the University of Jammu.
