JU boxers to lock horns with Canadian counterparts today

JAMMU, Apr 19: A group of boxers from Canada and the University of Jammu will lock horns tomorrow at the boxing rink at University of Jammu here during an exhibition match, sand an official.
“Nearly four boxers from each side (JU, Canada) will fight five bouts on Friday evening,” Dauood Iqbal, Director, Department, Physical Education, University of Jammu here said.
He said that the boxers from Canada had been to India and on a request to one of their Jammu based mentors settled in Canada and running a Boxing Academy, the exhibition matches will be played here at the University of Jammu.
“It is a promotional event and will also provide exposure to our boxers so that they learn some skills from them, which can be utilised during various competitions,” said the Director.
