Jt House Panel seeks expert opinion of medicos

JAMMU, Jan 31: In order to further review the progress relating to the alleged medical negligence in the death of Sadhya Arora, son of MLC Ramesh Arora, a meeting of the Joint House Committee was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga.
The Members interacted with a panel of three prominent doctors, constituted to give their expert opinion on the issue to establish the truth. The panel comprised, Dr A G Ahangar, Director, SKIMS, Srinagar, Dr Shakti Gupta, Medical Superintendent, AIIMS, New Delhi and Dr Vipin Kaushal, Medical Superintendent, PGIMER Chandigarh.
The Committee had thorough discussion on the issue and urged the doctors to submit their opinion/report after going through various aspects viz-a-viz preliminary investigation/report submitted by the authorities of Government Medical College Jammu and police relating to the case immediately enabling it to finalize the report.
The team of the doctors enlightened the Committee on various aspects of the case and sought more time for study and finalization of opinion. However, they assured to submit their findings during the current session of Legislature.
Legislators, G. M. Saroori, Devinder Singh Rana, Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Dr Shehnaz Ganai, Vibodh Gupta, Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Naresh Gupta, Secretary Legislative Council, Abdul Majid Bhat, Special Secretary LC, Mohammad Ashraf Wani were present in the meeting.
