DODA, Nov 20: A teenage girl jumped into river Chenab and died.
As per police sources, a girl identified as Sheetal (19), daughter of Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Chinta, tehsil Bhaderwah, a first year student of BSc at GDC Bhaderwah jumped into river Chenab river at Pull Doda.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and along with Chenab rescue and SDRF teams fished out the body of the girl from the river.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary of District Hospital Doda, where after conducting autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
Doda police has taken cognizance in this regard and started investigation to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
