Jourian-Khour defeats Jammu by 13 runs, lifts Cricket C’ship title; Poonch wins opening match in Football

JAMMU, Aug 27: Inter School, Zonal and Divisional Level Competitions in various disciplines, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, were played at different venues.
JAMMU: Jourian-Khour Zone defeated Jammu Zone by 13 runs and lifted Inter Zonal District Level Cricket Championship title organized for under-19 boys at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Jourian-Khour Zone scored 99 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in allotted 15 overs. Vishal played well and chipped in half century, while Robin scored 33 runs.
Samad took 3 wickets, while Deepak scalped one wicket for Jammu Zone side.
In the second inning, Jammu Zone failed to chase the target and bundled out at 86 runs by losing 7 wickets in allotted 15 overs. Areeb and Samad made 23 and 19 runs respectively.
From Jourian-Khour side, Robin took two wickets, while Vishal and Vicky shared one wicket each.

In Sabre Boys, Nikhil Atri of GHSS Boys Reasi defeated Arjun Singh of GHSS Salal by 10-07 and secured first place, while Rakesh Kumar of GHS Kambal Danga and Sunil Kumar of HSS Pouni bagged third and fourth positions respectively.
In Epee Boys, Manav Magotra of GHSS Boys trounced Jasbir of the same school by 10-03 to clinch the first position, while Ankit Sharma of GHSS Pouni and Rahul Kumar of GHS Kambal Danga bagged third and fourth positions respectively.
Sahil Sharma of HSS Bharakh, defeated Shubhdev Singh of HSS Panthal by 10-06 and claimed the Foil Event title, while Ramit Sharma of GHSS Bharakh and Naseem Shah of GHS Kambal Danga secured third and fourth places respectively.
In Girls Sabre Event, Shivali Devi of GHS Kambal Danga trounced Rupali Magotra of GHSS Katra by 10-02 in the one sided affair to claim the title while Sakshi Rajput of GHSS Katra and Kavita Sharma of HSS Bharakh remained at third and fourth place respectively.
In Epee Girls, Archana Devi of GHSS Girls Reasi got better of Sonia Lasotra of GHSS Panthal in the final and clinched the bout by 10-08. Anu Devi of GHSS Panthal defeated Sujata of GHSS Bharakh to claim the third position.
In Foil Girls, Deepika Thakur of GHSS Panthal defeated Jyoti Devi of GHSS Katra in a nail biting contest by 10-09 to claim first position while Diksha Sharma of GHSS Girls Reasi and Meena Sharma of GHSS Panthal remained at third and fourth place respectively.
POONCH: Divisional Level Inter District Tournament in the discipline of Football for under-14 and 17 boys was declared open here by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun Malik at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, here.
The opening match in under-17 category was played between  Poonch and Ramban Districts, in which former registered win by straight nine goals to zero.
