UDHAMPUR, July 28: For improvement of different roads maintained by Army authorities, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal today convened a joint meeting of Army and civil officers at conference hall here.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on various issues including road from Jib Morh Garhi to Jib, road from Krishana Palace towards MES filter point Cherry, road from SBI(old) Garhi towards Army Gate, construction of road from Lower Thomas Bridge(MI room) towards Kotli village, construction of road from lower Sambal near railway crossing towards village Jakhar, repair and renovation of road towards TV Relay Station Udhampur besides various road related and traffic regulation issues were also discussed.
The DDC apprised the meeting regarding main roads which need immediate repairs by the Army including road from Jib Morh Garhi to Jib proper, road from Krishana Palace towards MES filter point Cherry, road from Shiv Nagar towards TV Relay Station Udhampur and road from Subash Nagar near Subash Stadium Udhampur etc.
She also asked the concerned to conduct the joint survey to identify the barricading and speed breaker point in order to avoid accidents and save lot of precious lives.
Army officers assured DDC that all the issues discussed in the meeting will be taken up with the higher authorities.
Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Dy. GOC 71 Sub Area, Brig. T. Mishra, GE(U) Udhampur, Lt. Col. Rajesh, Executive Engineer, R&B, other Army and civil officers were also present in the meeting.
