Joint House Panel seeks report regarding cause of death of MLC’s son

JAMMU, Jan 11: A meeting of the Joint House Committee constituted to look into the alleged medical negligence of doctors in GMC Jammu was held under the chairmanship MLC, Ghulam Nabi Monga here today.
The Committee Members included G M Saroori, Devender Singh Rana, Dr S Bashir Ahmad Shah, Dr Shehnaz Ganai, Vibod Gupta, Firdous Ahmad Tak and Surinder Kumar Choudhary attended the meeting.
The Committee asked the Legislative Council Secretariat to seek preliminary report regarding the cause of death of son of MLC Ramesh Arora and subsequent loss/tempering of records in GMC Jammu pertaining to the death from Inspector General of Police Crime by January 17 for scrutiny of the Committee.
The panel also asked the Principal Medical College Jammu to submit detailed report alongwith relevant records for scrutiny by the Committee.
It was decided in the meeting that a Committee of Medical Experts be constituted with Director SKIMS as Convener and medical experts Dr Shakti Gupta and Dr Vipan Koshal as members to go into the whole issue.
Earlier, MLC Ramesh Arora briefed the meeting about the alleged negligence of doctors in GMC Jammu.
