JMC team visits Talab Khatikan

JAMMU, July 3: On the directions of Commissioner JMC, Saujanya Sharma, a team of the Municipal Corporation visited Talab Khatikan area to assess the arrangements in view of holy Ramzan month.
The team, comprising of Municipal Veterinary Officer Dr Zaffar Iqbal along with CTO, AEE Mech, Sanitation Officer and other field staff visited the Jama Masjid and adjoining areas. They met with the various social organizations as well as senior citizens of the Talab Khatikan area, who put forth various demands and suggestions, which include, iron gratings, street lights as well as sanitation at various points.
The officers assured redressal of all these grievances within shortest period.
The field staff of sanitation wing has been also directed to gear up and desilt all the drains and clean the whole area. The meat sellers were directed not to keep the meat in the open to maintain its hygienic conditions. The chicken seller were also directed to maintain proper hygienic conditions and provide good quality of chicken meat.
The shopkeepers in general were directed to keep dustbins in their premises and not throw the waste in the lanes and drains. The people were informed that they could approach to the JMC authorities for any kind of services which the Jammu Municipal can provide.
