JMC seals residential buildings used for commercial purposes

JAMMU, Dec  27:  The Enforcement staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) under the guidance of Kiran Wattal Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu continued and intensified the drive vigorously against the unauthorized construction, violations and encroachments.
The officers and officials of the Wing undertook an extensive day long drive and sealed the premises of Narinder Sharma, R.D. Sharma at Plot No: 80-A, Gandhi Nagar, near here. The action has been taken under Section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988 as the builder has converted the building into Commercial one. `
The team sealed the premises of Rakesh Aggrawal at Plot No: 283-A, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu who had converted the residential building into commercial purpose without the permission of JMC. The action has been taken under Section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
The team also demolished the shutters of shops at Sec No: 6, Channi Himmat, the walls of garage belonging to  Sajan S/o Late . James near MVO Office, Dogra Hall, Jammu and removed the encroachment of Nallaha.
The sealing and demolition drive has been conducted with the help of police from Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat Jammu and force from District Police Lines, Jammu. The Jammu Municipal Corporation once again appealed to the general public to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorized constructions otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition / sealing will be taken.
