JMC seals 4 shops at Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Sept 24: The Enforcement wing of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today sealed four shops in Gandhi Nagar area for the violation of Control of Building Operations Act.
The JMC team led by Joint Commissioner R S Jamwal,  on the directions of  Dr Manmohan Singh Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation,  sealed four shops constructed by   Sunil Handa, son of PC Handa at  44 C/C Gandhi Nagar, Jammu under section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988. The JMC officials said that Handa raised four shops unauthorizedly and in violation of the land use of the area from residential to commercial one.
The said illegal construction seriously effects the planned development of Jammu City and contravenes the zoning regulation.
The sealing operation was conducted with the help of Police force from Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed  to the general public to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorized constructions / conversion in violation of land use otherwise strict action rule leading to demolition / sealing will be taken.
