JAMMU, Aug 30: On the directions of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Manmohan Singh, the team of Revenue staff continued its drive against alleged menace of illegal rehries and toured the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Railway Station, Akhnoor Road, B.C. Road, Mahespura etc.
The team lifted seven rehries, which were not plying in rehri zone created by JMC but on the main road thus creating traffic hindrance. In addition to this, the team also seized weighing machines, umbrellas and other allied materials of the defaulters and also got footpaths and pavements cleared from the habitual encroachers. All the rehri owners were directed to strictly obtain license from Jammu Municipal Corporation and ply their rehries in the prescribed rehries zones.
