JMC conducts drive against illegal hoardings

JAMMU, Feb 3: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted an intensive drive against illegal hoardings, rehries/pharies and encroachers.
The team was headed by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, JMC Vinakshi Koul along with Revenue officers and field staff . The raid was conducted on the instructions of Commissioner, JMC, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The team visited various areas of Jammu city viz Railway Station, Panama Chowk, Gandhi Nagar, Green Belt Park, Akhnoor Road, Bakshi Nagar, Maheshpura & Indira Chowk. During the drive the team removed illegal hoardings, reharies/pharies plying in the restricted areas & without licence causing traffic congestions in the area. The team also cleared footpaths & pavements.
The JMC has appealed to  Rehri owners to ply their rehries after obtaining proper rehri licence and also in the areas/rehri zones specified by JMC. The team also appealed to shopkeepers not to display their belongings on the footpath and cooperate with J M C in making Jammu a smart city.
