JAMMU, Apr 15: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal along with all sectional heads from the Corporation today conducted a tour to Tawi Vihar Sidhra, held public meet and listened to grievances of people.
During the public meet, locals put forth their grievances regarding in-sanitary conditions, de-silting of nallahs and defunct street lights in the Tawi Vihar area.
The JMC Commissioner on spot instructed the Health Officer, Chief Transport Officer and concerned Executive Engineer to redress the grievances of the locals within fifteen days.
Meanwhile, on the direction of JMC Commissioner, Municipal Veterinary Officer inspected the meat shops in the areas of Gangyal, Channi Himmat, Satwari and CPO Chowk. While checking, 10 Kg of sub-standard meat was discarded on spot and fine to the tune of Rs 3000 was realized from the defaulters.
The JMC once again appealed all the shopkeepers to keep their premises neat and clean failing which, action under law will be initiated against defaulters.
